CPSC, Kyocera Wireless Corp. Announce Recall of Cell Phone Batteries
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hecmma Group, of El Paso, Texas. is voluntarily recalling about 1 million batteries in Kyocera Wireless Cell Phones . Some of the cell phone batteries supplied by the battery manufacturer may be counterfeit. This can cause the batteries to short-circuit, overheat and pose burn hazard to consumers.

CPSC, Polaris Industries Announce Recall of RANGER 4x4 Utility Vehicles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Polaris Industries, Inc., of Medina, Minn. is voluntarily recalling about 2,150 Polaris “RANGER 4x4” utility vehicles. The lower steering shaft assembly may have a missing or misplaced weld that connects the steering wheel to the steering gear box assembly. If a weld is missing or misplaced, the lower steering shaft assembly could fail, causing the operator to lose control of the vehicle.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), International Playthings Inc., of Parsippany, N.J. is voluntarily recalling about 1,600 Earlyears® Spirolly Rattle. The spiral section of the rattle can come apart, releasing small balls inside. This can pose a choking hazard to young children.

CPSC, Nexgrill Industries Announce Recall of Gas Grills to Replace Gas Pressure Regulator
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Nexgrill Industries Inc., of Walnut, Calif. is voluntarily recalling 10,900 Beefmaster explorer outdoor gas grills (model number 720-0001). As consumers adjust the gas pressure regulator (on/off gauge) leading to the propane cylinder, the label on the valve can become positioned in such a manner that it is difficult to read. This can cause consumers to inadvertently leave the gas valve on, posing a fire hazard.

These mattress pads fail to meet the federal mandatory standard for flammability under the flammable fabrics act. The hot water faucet on these units has a child-resistant safety feature to prevent young children from accessing the hot water. The device can malfunction so that the faucet will not turn off, causing burn injuries to children.

CPSC, Wisdom Industries Ltd. Announce Revised Safety Inspection Program for Sizzler and Deluxe Sizzler Mobile Amusement Rides
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Wisdom Industries Ltd., of Sterling, Colo., are announcing a revised safety inspection program for the Sizzler and Deluxe Sizzler amusement rides. The Sizzler is a scrambling-type ride that rotates clockwise on a central mast while each of the three four-seat sections rotates counter-clockwise on its own mast. The ride accelerates rapidly, then slows almost to a stop, and then accelerates again. There are about 142 Sizzler rides in the U.S.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bombardier Inc., Quebec, Canada is voluntarily recalling Ski-Doo® 2004 MX Z (E) 800 HO and GSX LTD (E) 800 HO snowmobiles. The starter ring gear may crack, causing fragmentation and debris, which may act as a projectile at high speeds. A projectile could cause serious injury or death.
