February 25, 1999- Scented Jewel Candles Recalled by The Body Shop U.S.
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), the Body Shop, of WakeForest, N.C., is recalling approximately 25,000 scented"Jewel" candles. The glass pots of these candles can explodeor break, causing possible cuts to nearby consumers, andposing a fire hazard. The outer decorative covering of thesepots can melt or catch fire.
September 1, 1998- Paper Candle Shades Recalled by MacKenzie-Childs
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), MacKenzie-Childs Ltd., ofAurora, N.Y., is recalling about 42,000 paper candle shades.Use of the paper shade with a candle presents a fire hazard.
June 3, 1998- Ralph Lauren Thoroughbred Candles Recalled by RJS
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), RJS Inc., of PortWashington, N.Y., is conducting a recall of 1,222 RalphLauren Thoroughbred Candles. These candles present a firehazard because their flasks can overheat and burn with highflames.
May 21, 1998- Gel Candles from Glade Recalled by S.C. Johnson
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), S.C. Johnson & Son Inc.,of Racine, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 1.7 millionGel Candles from Glade. These candles can burn with higherthan normal flames, as high as 3 inches above the container,posing a potential fire hazard.
May 6, 1998- Floral Candles Recalled by Amscan
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Amscan Inc., of Elmsford,N.Y., is recalling 6,000 floral candles. These candles'containers can break and allow hot wax to escape. The hotwax can cause burns and the broken candle container createsa potential fire hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Gump's By Mail Inc., ofWeehawken, N.J., is recalling about 1,960 three-wickcandles. The wax candle can generate high flames thatpresent a fire hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer ProductSafety Commission (CPSC), Roman Inc. of Roselle, Ill., isrecalling about 800 train candleholder sets. The candleholderscan melt and ignite when exposed to a direct flame, presenting afire hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Magic Creations ofMcKeesport, Pa., is recalling about 30,300 hand-shaped,three wick Bleeding Hand candles. The Halloween hand-shapedwax candle generates high flames that could present a firehazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Raz Imports Inc. of FortWorth, Texas, is recalling approximately 3,750 Christmasangel candlestick holders. The acrylic candlestick holdermay ignite and burn when exposed to a direct flame.
April 24, 1995- Satellight Oil Candles Recalled by Glass Dimensions
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer ProductSafety Commission (CPSC), Glass Dimensions of Essex, Mass., isannouncing a recall of approximately 1,082 Satellight Oil Candlesthat may leak fuel and catch fire. The Vermont Fire ProtectionDivision informed CPSC of this hazard after receiving reports ofone fire that resulted from a faulty candle.
