December 20, 2001- LTD Commodities Inc. Recall of Snowman Holiday Porcelain Lanterns
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), LTD Commodities Inc., of Bannockburn, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 33,000 Snowman Holiday Porcelain Lanterns. These snowman lanterns can crack or catch fire due to excessive heat from the tealight candles, which poses a risk of injury to consumers.
December 20, 2001- Dillard's Recalls Pine Tree Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dillard's, Inc., of Little Rock, Ark., is voluntarily recalling about 12,000 Pine Tree Candles. The candles can collapse, causing the flame to spread and ignite decorative glitter and paint, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.
December 20, 2001; Revised May 10, 2002- Walgreen Recalls Candele Glitter Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Walgreen Co., of Deerfield, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 50,500 Candele glitter candles. The glitter on the candles can ignite, posing a fire hazard.
November 29, 2001- Alco Industries Water Fountain With Candle Holder Recall
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Alco Industries Inc., of Edison, N.J., is voluntarily announcing the recall of 75,000 water fountains with candle holders. The tea candles on the water fountains can flare up, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
November 29, 2001- Darice Inc. Candle Holder Recall
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Darice Inc., of Strongsville, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling 60,000 wooden candle holders. When the candle burns down to the bottom of the wick it can set the candle holder on fire, which poses fire and burn hazards to consumers.
October 15, 2001- Endar Corp. Recall of Candle Sets Sold in Wal-Mart Stores
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Endar Corp. of Temecula, Calif., and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. of Bentonville, Ark., are voluntarily recalling 74,000 Ambria brand candle sets. The wax from the candles can drip and ignite the potpourri. Additionally, when the candles are in close proximity, they generate a significant amount of heat. Each of these hazards could lead to a fire, which could cause burn injuries to consumers.
May 24, 2001- Push'n Pop Toys, Giant Bicycle Forks and Candle Recalls
Raymond Geddes & Co. Inc., of Baltimore, Md., is voluntarily recalling about 6,500 Tropical Fish and Rockin' Reptile Push'n Pop toys, which are also known as Zapper toys. The balloon tongues and the cylinders holding the tongues on these toys can detach, which poses choking and aspiration hazards to young children. Giant Bicycle, Inc., of Newbury Park, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 2,400 Giant-brand bicycle front forks. The forks can break during use causing the rider to lose control of the bicycle, fall and suffer serious injuries. Schottenstein and Value City Department Stores, of Columbus, Ohio, are voluntarily recalling about 10,800 candles. The candle flame can ignite the silver paint coating on the candle container, presenting a fire hazard.

March 8, 2001- Candle Recalled by Xanadu Candle Co.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Xanadu Candle Co., of Guatemala City, Guatemala, is voluntarily recalling about 2.8 million candles. These candles can burn with a high flame, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.Xanadu Candle Co. has received seven reports of candles burning with high flames resulting in minor burns to consumers.
February 20, 2001- Christmas Candles Recalled by The Paper Magic Group Inc.
The Paper Magic Group, Inc., of Scranton, Pa., is voluntarily recalling about 31,000 Christmas candles. They consist of a fragranced candle in a red and white "peppermint striped" ceramic candle holder. The candle holder is in the shape of a basket and includes a decorative ceramic handle that extends over the top of the basket. The basket is about 4 inches in diameter and the handle extends about 3.5 inches over the top of the basket. The name "Candle Illusions" is on the bottom of the basket. Drug and grocery stores nationwide sold these candles from October 2000 through December 2000 for about $6.
February 5, 2001- Christmas Candles Recalled by Alene Candles
Alene Candles Inc. of Milford, N.H., is voluntarily recalling approximately 38,000 Christmas candles. The 22.5- ounce Christmas candle is in a ceramic container. It has three wicks and red wax. The ceramic container is decorated with an ice skating snow couple, and was sold as part of the "Snow Friends" Collection. The candle scent is cinnamon stick. Bath & Body Works and White Barn Candle stores nationwide sold these candles from October 2000 through December 2000 for about $20.

December 23, 1999- Millennium Candles Recalled by Hanna's Candle Co.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hanna's Candle Co., of Fayetteville, Ark., is voluntarily recalling more than 3,000 Millennium candles sold to SAMS CLUB. The candle holder can crack when the burning wick touches the side of the glass, causing lacerations.
December 22, 1999- Christmas Candles Recalled by Fashion Bug
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fashion Bug, of Bensalem, Pa., is recalling about 6,300 gold-colored candles. The gold coating on these candles can ignite, posing a fire hazard.
October 13, 1999- Halloween Pumpkin Tealight Candles Recalled by Universal Candle
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Universal Candle Co., of China, is voluntarily recalling about 21,000 Halloween pumpkin tealight candles sold at Bath & Body Works. The candles can burn with a high flame, presenting fire and burn hazards to consumers.
June 23, 1999- Angel Candle Holders Recalled by Atico International USA
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Atico International USA Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is voluntarily recalling about 18,000 angel candle holders. The angel's head on these candle holders can come into contact with the flame of a candle placed in the holder, posing a fire hazard.

April 14, 1999- Candles Recalled by Calvin Klein Cosmetics
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product SafetyCommission (CPSC), Calvin Klein Cosmetics Co., of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling approximately 35,000 fragranced candles housed in tin containers sold in the U.S. These candles can burn with a higher than normal flame, posing a potential fire hazard.
