December 9, 2003- Candleholders Recalled by Coldwater Creek and Cape Craftsman
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Cape Craftsman, Wilmington, N.C. and Coldwater Creek,Sandpoint, Idaho is voluntarily recalling 800 Mica Tree Candleholders. Flames from the tealight candle can ignite the candleholder, posing a fire and burnhazard.
December 4, 2003- Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. Recall of Snow Play Candleholder
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. of Carrollton, Texas is voluntarily recalling 14,338 Snow Play Candleholders. Flames from the votive candle can set fire to the rope linking three “sledding” snowmen.
November 13, 2003- Polardreams International Ltd. Recall of Candle Gift Sets
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Polardreams International Ltd., of Fairfield, Iowa is voluntarily recalling candle gift sets . The candle gift set can exhibit a larger-than-normal flame height as the tealight candle burns to the end, posing a potential fire hazard.
October 23, 2003- Pier 1 Imports Recall of Footed Glass Floater Bowl Candleholder
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Pier 1 Imports of Fort Worth, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 65,800 glass candleholders. The base of the Footed Glass Floater Bowl candleholder can unexpectedly fall off and cause the glass bowl or base to break, and the broken glass can cause cuts.
September 25, 2003- Melting Pot Gift Sets Recalled by Lang Candles Ltd.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lang Candles Ltd., of Delafield, Wis., is voluntarily recalling 9,000 Melting Pot Gift Sets. The melting pots can produce excessive flame and/or ignite presenting a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
March 11, 2003- Blue Star Candles Recall of Christmas Candles
Blue Star Candles, L.P., of Lubbock, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 18,000 Christmas candles. The 6-ounce, red Christmas candles are packaged in an 18-count box labeled "Christmas Candles." Each candle sits in a 6-ounce tin container. A label on the bottom of the candle reads in part, "Merry Christmas" with either a Santa Claus or Christmas tree printed on the candle. The candles have a cinnamon spice fragrance named Christmas Joy. Only the 6-ounce candle size is included in the recall.
December 24, 2002- Atico International Recall of Christmas Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Atico International USA Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is voluntarily recalling about 60,000 Christmas tealight candles. The wick is not properly set inside the tealight, which may cause the plastic holder to melt and pose a fire hazard to consumers. Atico has received one report involving melting of the plastic holder; however, no injuries have been reported.
December 11, 2002- Tea Lights Recalled by Home Interiors and Gifts
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Home Interiors and Gifts Inc., of Carrollton, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 211,000 sets of tea lights. Flames from the tea lights can flare, and the excessive heat can cause the plastic holders to melt, posing a fire hazard.
November 20, 2002- Meijer Recall of Three Tier Tealight Candleholder
Meijer of Grand Rapids, MI, is voluntarily recalling approximately 1,200 Three Tier Tealight Candle Holders. The holders are constructed of metal and glass disks and are in the shape of a vertical wave pattern. The tea light candles rest behind the glass disks. The holders are purple and black, yellow and white or green and white. Meijer stores located in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois sold the candleholders from May 2002 through October 2002 for about $7.99. They were manufactured in China.
October 31, 2002- Halloween Candleholders Recalled by Kohl's Department Stores
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kohl's Department Stores Inc., of Menomonee Falls, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 8,000 Halloween candleholders. Flames from the tea-light candle can ignite the candleholder, posing a fire hazard and risk of burn injuries to consumers.
October 16, 2002- Halloween Candleholders Recalled by Pottery Barn
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Pottery Barn, of San Francisco, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 11,500 Halloween tree tea-light candleholders. There have been reports that some tea-light candles burning in the candleholder could flare up, posing a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries to consumers.
October 16, 2002- Decorative Jack-O-Lanterns Recalled by Target Corp.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Target Corp., of Minneapolis, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 26,000 ceramic Jack-O-Lanterns. The flame of a candle placed inside the Jack-O-Lantern could ignite the straw ribbon on the outside, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
October 1, 2002- Pier 1 Imports Recall of Glass Candleholder
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Pier 1 Imports, of Fort Worth, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 9,200 candleholders. The Giant Champagne Glass-Shaped Floating Candleholder is made of mouth-blown recycled glass and is intended for use with floating candles. The candleholder can unexpectedly shatter and cause cuts to consumers.

February 8, 2002- CPSC, Harry and David Announce Recall of Outdoor Lanterns
Harry and David of Medford, Ore., is voluntarily recalling about 280 Outdoor Lanterns. The recalled candle lanterns are approximately 5", 7", and 9" square. They are made of rustproof galvanized steel, lined with glass panels and a hanger at the top. Each lantern has a holder for placing a candle inside the lantern. Harry and David Holiday 2001 Easy Entertaining Catalog offered the product under item #14844U. The lanterns were sold as a set of three, nationwide from September 2001 through November 2001 for about $60.
