Extension Cords, Portable Lights, and Fluorescent Lights Recalled by Homier Distributing Co.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Homier Distributing Co. Inc., of Huntington, Ind., is voluntarily recalling about 150,000 Extension Cords, 180,000 Portable Lights, and 54,000 Fluorescent Work Lights. The extension cords and lights have undersized wiring, are not properly polarized, have inadequate grounding,faulty electrical conections, and plastic handles that once ignited continue to burn and spread flames,posing a shock, electrocution and fire hazard to consumers.

Nightlights Recalled by Trisonic
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Trisonic/Eastern America Trio Products, of Flushing, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 12,000 Nightlights. The nightlight poses a serious electrocution, electric shock, burn and fire hazard to consumers.

Ceiling Light Fixtures Recalled by Sea Gull Lighting Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sea Gull Lighting Inc., of Riverside, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 7,100 ceiling light fixtures. The wiring in the lights can short, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

About 500-Watt Halogen Bulbs Recalled by Cooper Lighting
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Cooper Lighting Inc., of Peachtree City, Ga., is warning consumers that nearly 600,000 Regent 500-watt halogen bulbs may pose a fire hazard if used in torchiere floor lamps or other indoor residential fixtures. These 500-watt light bulbs generate very high temperatures compared to incandescent and lower wattage halogen bulbs and can start a fire if they come in contact with curtains, clothes or other flammable material. These bulbs are intended for use in outdoor work lights and flood lamps.

Halo Burger Recalls Flashlights and Batteries Sold in Kids Meals
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Halo Burger, of Flint, Mich., is voluntarily recalling about 9,500 flashlights and batteries that were distributed as a premium in Halo Burger kids meals and sold individually. The "AA" batteries provided with each flashlight can leak, which could cause irritation to the skin. When disassembled, the flashlights also have small parts that can pose a choking hazard to young children.

Kidz Club Flashlights Recalled by Eveready Battery Co.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Eveready Battery Co. Inc., of St. Louis, Mo., is voluntarily recalling about 24,000 Kidz Club flashlights, sold under its Energizer brand. The flashlights can overheat and cause the batteries to leak, posing a risk of burns to children.

Holophane Recall of Luminaire Optical Assemblies
Holophane, of Newark, OH, a division of Acuity Lighting Group, Inc. has voluntarily recalled about 1,500 optical assemblies used in its Enduralume® and Low Profile Enduralume® Luminaires. The recalled products are optical assemblies used in these High Intensity Discharge luminaires for industrial and commercial installations. The optical assembly used in Enduralume and Low Profile Enduralume fixtures consists of a glass refractor and an aluminum reflector. Holophane sold these luminaires through electrical distributors nationwide from January 2002 through February 2002. They were made in the USA.

Intermatic Recalls Nightlights
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Intermatic Inc., of Spring Grove, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 156,000 electroluminescent nightlights. The nightlights can short-circuit, posing shock and burn hazards to consumers.

Progress Lighting Recalls Fluorescent Lights
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Progress Lighting, of Spartanburg, S.C., is voluntarily recalling about 10,600 fluorescent lights. The lights are improperly wired, posing a fire hazard.

Emess Lighting and SLI Lighting Solutions Recall of Twister Portable Lamps
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Emess Lighting Inc. and SLI Lighting Solutions Inc. are voluntarily recalling about 480,000 Twister portable lamps and will provide consumers with an in-home repair kit. The lamp's bulb can become hot, presenting a risk of burn injuries to consumers, and the risk of fire if the bulb comes in contact with combustible materials.

Firms Recall On/Off Switches for Rope and Cable Lights
American Tack & Hardware Co. Inc., of Monsey, N.Y., is recalling about 270,000 on/off switches sold in packages of Westek rope lights. Light Tech, of Grand Rapids, Mich., is recalling about 350,000 on/off switches that were included in cable lights packages.

Fluorescent Worklights Recalled by The Designers Edge
The Designers Edge, of Bellevue, Wash., is voluntarily recalling about 180 fluorescent worklights with model number L-2001. The model number is located on the crossbar below the floodlight heads on a white sticker. It is a twin head, green telescoping worklight. All units with manufacturing dates from May 2000 and before are included in this recall. The manufacturing date is located on the same sticker as the model number. Home Depot stores nationwide and Northern Tool magazine sold these worklights from April 2000 through May 2000 for about $150.

Nightlights Recalled by Dura Kleen (USA) Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dura Kleen (USA) Inc., of Brooklyn, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 459,000 nightlights. The nightlights' electrical connections are loose, they are made from flammable plastic and the power switch does not work. The nightlights pose shock and fire hazards to consumers.

Brinkmann Outdoor Solar Light Recall
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Brinkmann Corporation, of Dallas, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 79,000 outdoor solar lights for repair. The beveled lens on the solar light can act as a magnifying glass. When sunlight passes through the lens, nearby combustible materials, such as mulch or dry grass, can catch on fire.
