In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product SafetyCommission (CPSC), Graco Children's Products Inc. of Elverson, Pa., isannouncing a free repair kit for about 133,000 traditional style Gracoplayards (also known as a playpen). The mesh on playards made betweenNovember 1995 and September 1996 may unravel from the seam, resultingin a possible choking or entanglement hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product SafetyCommission (CPSC), Direct Source International Inc. of Blue Ash, Ohio, isvoluntarily recalling 11,700 packages of small plastic halloween candybuckets. Dillon Stores of Hutchinson, Kan., and CPSC found prohibitedlevels of lead in the black, red, and yellow paint, which peels readilyfrom the buckets. The lead paint can cause lead poisoning in youngchildren, who may ingest the paint from the banned buckets.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product SafetyCommission (CPSC), Global Industries Inc. of Marlton, N.J., is announcinga voluntary recall of about 2,500 Wood Tilter chairs sold primarilythrough Staples between July 15, 1996, and October 5, 1996. The seat maybreak when pressure is exerted on the backrest, which could result in theoccupant falling from the chair.

In cooperation with the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC), Gerry Baby Products Company, of Thornton, Colo., is announcing avoluntary recall of approximately 990,000 Model 602 Gerry Deluxe BabyMonitors. Wires inside the monitor may be improperly connected, resultingin the product overheating with the possibility of the monitor causingfire. Another contributing factor is when blankets or other bedding areplaced around or on top of the monitor blocking ventilation.
