Pennsylvania Firm Recalls Beef Products Because Of Possible ContaminationWASHINGTON, April 3, 2002--ConAgra Grocery Products Co., a Milton, Pa., establishment, is voluntarily recalling approximately 6,300 pounds of canned beef ravioli products that may contain an ingredient held under unsanitary conditions, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today. The products being recalled are 15-ounce cans of "Chef BOYARDEE BEEF Ravioli In Tomato & Meat Sauce." Each can bears the product code "EST (between 0001 and 2400) 2 794 C12201 R" on the lid. The product was produced on March 12 and distributed to retail stores in Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, and Oklahoma. "FSIS wants consumers to be aware of the recall because of the possible contaminants in this product," said Margaret O'K. Glavin, acting FSIS administrator. "We urge consumers to return the product to the point of purchase." The problem was discovered and reported to FSIS by ConAgra.
