Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanuts in Kamison Lucky CandyContact: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Industry, CA -- February 24, 2005 -- Gemini Food Corp, 251 Benton Court, City of Industry, CA 91789 is recalling Kamison Lucky Candy because it may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. The recalled Kamison Lucky Candy packed in an uncoded, 14.1 oz. plastic bag was sold nationwide. The recall was initiated after it was discovered through routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts on the label. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. Consumers who have purchased Kamison Lucky Candy are urged to return them to the place of purchase.
