December 22, 2004 - GE Security Inc. Retrofit/Recall of Smoke Detector Systems
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), GE Security Inc., of Austin, Texas. is voluntarily recalling approximately 246,800 smoke detectors. The smoke alarms can fail to activate during a fire or emergency, if installed in combination with certain control panels.
September 3, 2003- GE Interlogix Recall of Smoke Detectors
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), GE Interlogix (GEI), of Tualatin, Ore. is voluntarily recalling ESL Smoke Detectors. These smoke detectors may fail to work properly upon installation or if there is an extended loss of power. If the smoke alarms fail to detect fire or smoke, it poses a serious hazard to occupants inside of the dwelling.

December 21, 1995- Moose Brand Control Panel Recalled by Sentrol, Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Sentrol, Inc. of Tualatin,Ore., is recalling 5,000 Moose brand security control panelsused with smoke detectors. Some of the systems have built-inwarning systems that sound to alert consumers to problemswith the alarms, such as malfunctioning components, thatrequire servicing. On certain models, these warningsystems fail to sound. When the warning system fails,consumers have no way of knowing if their control panel isworking.
