CPSC, Kawasaki Motor Corp. Announce Recall of All-Terrain Vehicles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., of Irvine, Calif.is voluntarily recalling about 3,000 All-Terrain Vehicles. The throttle cable adjuster on the carburetor can loosen during operation, causing it to stick, which can cause the rider to lose control and possibly crash.

CPSC, NHTSA, and Dorel Juvenile Group Inc. Announce Extended Recallof Infant Car Seats/Carriers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., ofColumbus, Ind., is again voluntarily recalling Cosco Arriva and Turnabout infant car seats/carriers toaddress a problem with the carry handle. On July 8, 1999, the two federal agencies and Cosco, nowknown as the Dorel Juvenile Group, announced the recall of 670,000 of these infant car seat/carriersmade from March 1995 through September 1997. This recall adds 1.2 million of the same model infantcar seats/carriers made through January 2000.

CPSC, Ontel Products Announce Recall of Food Slicer
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Ontel Products Corp., of Fairfield, N.J. is voluntarily recalling 32,000 Little Red Chef Food Slicers, also known as The Kitchen Magic Food Slicer. The exposed slicing blade on top of the unit can cut a consumer's fingers or hand during use.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), QVC, Inc. of West Chester, Pa. is voluntarily recalling about 7,300 Little Red Chef Food Choppers. Consumers can cut their fingers and hands while using the product.

CPSC, Bombardier Motor Corporation of America Announces Recall of Snowmobiles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bombardier Motor Corporation of America of Grant, Fla. is voluntarily recalling 548 Ski-Doo® snowmobiles, model year 2003, Legend™ and Grand Touring™ SDI and V-1000 models. The Start/RER switch for the SDI models and the Start switch for the V-1000 models may be defective, creating potential problems.

If batteries used in the mobile leak, the caustic liquid can seep out of the battery compartment, posing a rish of chemical burns to babies.

CPSC, Homier Distributing Co. Announce Recall of Extension Cords, Portable Lights, andFluorescent Work Lights
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Homier Distributing Co. Inc., of Huntington, Ind., is voluntarily recalling about 150,000 Extension Cords, 180,000 Portable Lights, and 54,000 Fluorescent Work Lights. The extension cords and lights have undersized wiring, are not properly polarized, have inadequate grounding,faulty electrical conections, and plastic handles that once ignited continue to burn and spread flames,posing a shock, electrocution and fire hazard to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Trivett Industries, Inc. of Deland, Fla., is voluntarily recalling about 590 Pancake Express Pancake Makers. The handles on the pancake makers are unable to withstand the heat of the device, causing the handle to fail to provide support because of melting or breaking.

CPSC, Babi Italia/LaJobi Industries Announce Recall to Replace "Tiffany" and "Josephine" Crib Drop-Side Rails
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Babi Italia, a division of LaJobi Industries Inc., of Edison, N.J., is voluntarily recalling to replace crib drop-side rails for about 2,000 "Tiffany" and "Josephine" model cribs. The slats on the drop-side rails can come loose or detach. A child's head can get caught in the space left by loose or missing slats, presenting an entrapment hazard. In addition, children can fall through the slat opening.
