CPSC, Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA Announce Recall of ATVs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., USA of Lincoln, Neb. is recalling about 9,500 Kawasaki Brute Force™ 750 4x4i All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). On some units, the nut which secures the front upper suspension arm pivot bolt could come loose during vehicle use. Continued use of the vehicle could allow the nut to come off, and the upper suspension A-arm pivot bolt to back partially out. This would result in a loss of steering control, and possibly cause the rider to crash and suffer injury or death.

CPSC, Tiffany and Company Announce Recall of Farm Teether Rattles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), New England Sterling of Attleboro, Mass., for Tiffany and Company of New York, N.Y., is recalling about 3,700 Farm Teether Rattles. A metal bar on the rattle can break off during use, releasing small round beads and small farm animal figures that roll off the crossbar when the soldered joints break. The beads can pose an aspiration hazard to young children. The breakage also can create ragged edges on the ring, posing a laceration hazard.

CPSC, Whirlpool Corporation Announce Recall of Dishwashers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Whirlpool Corporation, of Benton Harbor, Mich. is recalling about 162,000 Whirlpool® and Kenmore® brand dishwashers. An electrical defect within the dishwashers’ wash motor wiring poses a risk of the motor overheating and possibly catching fire.

CPSC, Head USA Inc. Announce Recall of SCUBA Diving Computers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Head USA Inc., of Norwalk, Conn. is recalling 181 SCUBA Diving Computers. The dive computers were improperly calibrated, resulting in incorrect calculations. Diving with an improperly calibrated dive computer can provide inaccurate “No Decompression (no stop) Time,” “Decompression Time,” “Desaturation Time” and “No Fly Time.” This could result in divers suffering serious injuries, including decompression sickness.

Metal-flange locking nuts securing the tie rod assemblies, integral to the steering system on the Youth ATV, can come loose. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), GSI Commerce Solutions, doing business as Spartan Sports, of King of Prussia, Pa. is recalling about 4,300 electric scooters. A knob can loosen and cause the handlebar to detach from the scooter. Additionally, the folding joint lock on the model FS-101 scooter can break, causing the handlebars to release from the upright position. Both hazards can cause the rider to lose control and fall from the scooter.

A gas leak can occur if there is a crack in the gas valve body near the inlet pipe connection. A build-up of gas in the burner compartment of the unit could occur, which could be ignited by an internal spark.

CPSC, Country Home Products, Inc. Announce Recall to Repair DR®Leaf and Lawn Vacuum
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Country Home Products, Inc. of Vergennes, Vt, is voluntarily recalling about 1,071 DR®Leaf and Lawn Vacuums. These leaf and lawn vacuums have a plastic elbow and blower exit adaptor that is connected to the top of the shredding chamber. The plastic can crack allowing stones, large sticks, and other material to puncture the plastic. This creates the possibility that pieces of plastic or other debris can fly upward toward bystanders or the operator. When this occurs, the potential for personal injury or property damage exists. This is more prone to occur when the outside temperatures are below 35 degrees.
