CPSC, Classic Concepts and Pottery Barn Announce Recall of Flammable RugsWASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.Name of product: Pottery Barn Bailey Chenille Rugs Units: About 960 Units Importer/Distributor: Classic Concepts of Los Angeles, Calif., and Williams Sonoma/Pottery Barn of San Francisco, Calif. Hazard: The recalled rugs violate the federal Flammable Fabrics Act and could ignite, presenting a risk of burn injuries. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recalled Pottery Barn Bailey Chenille Rugs are “periwinkle blue” color only. Two models/sizes are recalled: 4479028 (8’ x 10’) and 4479036 (5’ x 8’). These rugs are 65% rayon and 35% cotton. Sold at: Pottery Barn retail stores nationwide, from November 11, 2002 to August 27, 2003, for $199 to $399. Manufactured in: India Remedy: Full refund. Consumers should stop using the rugs and contact Classic Concepts to arrange for the rug to be picked up and shipped back to Classic Concepts. Consumers will receive a full refund when the recalled rugs are returned.
