CPSC, Old Navy Announce Recall of Children’s Zippered OuterwearWASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.Name of product: Children’s Zippered Outerwear Units: 666,000 Manufacturer: Old Navy LLC, of San Francisco, Calif. Hazard: The plastic zipper pull can detach from the zipper, posing a choking hazard to young children. Incidents/Injuries: Old Navy has received 13 reports of the zipper pulls detaching, including one report of a child mouthing the object. No injuries have been reported. Description: This recall involves children’s outerwear garments with a clear, oval-shaped zipper pull. The garments were sold in sizes 6 months to 4T. Style numbers are printed on a white label sewn into the garment. The label is located under the garment-care tag.
Sold at: Old Navy stores and oldnavy.com nationwide from November 2003 through May 2004 from between $14 and $34. Manufactured in: Korea, Vietnam and Philippines.
