May 4, 1998- Back Massage Cushions Recalled by Conair & Sears Roebuck
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer ProductSafety Commission (CPSC), Conair Corp., of Stamford, Conn., andSears Roebuck and Co., of Hoffman Estates, Ill., are recallingabout 183,000 back massage cushions. The motors used in theseback massage cushions can stall, overheat and possibly burnthrough the massage cushion.
March 11, 1998- Back Massagers Recalled by JB Research
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), JB Research Inc., ofBellflower, Calif., had voluntarily recalled about 15,000back massagers sold under the Relaxor, Deep Knead Shiatsubrand name. The motor for the massager's Deep Kneadmechanism can jam and overheat. This will cause scorching tothe foam and fabric on back of the unit, presenting apotential fire hazard to consumers.
