In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Two’s Company Inc., of Mount Vernon, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 18,000 Sea Urchin Shell Candles. The candles can burn at an excessive height or cause the outer shell to catch fire, posing a potential fire and burn hazard.
June 24, 2005 - Target Corp. Recall of Birch/Bark Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Target Corp., Minneapolis, Minn. is voluntarily recalling about 230,000 Birch and Bark Candles. The birch and bark surrounding the candles can ignite, posing a fire and burn hazard.
June 20, 2005 - Midwest Cannon Falls Recall of Votive Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Midwest Cannon Falls, of Cannon Falls, Minn. is voluntarily recalling about 10,000 Serenity Votive Candles. The candles’ wax can catch fire, causing a high flame. This can cause nearby combustibles to catch fire and result in burns to consumers.
May 31, 2005 - Home Interiors & Gifts Inc. Recall of Candle Tins
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Home Interiors & Gifts Inc., of Carrollton, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 300,000 Home Interiors Fundraising Series candle tins. The candle flames could flare up out of the tin container during use, posing a fire and burn hazard.

April 5, 2005 - Southern Living At HOME Recall of Tea Light Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Southern Living At HOME is voluntarily recalling 3,480 Fern Warm Comforts Tea Light Candles. Some of these tea light candles from one production run can burn with a high flame, due to contamination.
March 31, 2005 - TechnoBrands Inc. Recall of Rope Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), TechnoBrands Inc., of Colonial Heights, Virginia is voluntarily recalling about 2,000 Rope Candles. The candle has a clamp that is used to extinguish the candle. The clamp does not always sever the wax close to the wick and extinguish the candle as intended. This can allow the flame to continue down into the coiled section of the candle and ignite the entire candle.
March 28, 2005- Nature’s Finest Recall of Gel Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Nature’s Finest, of Marble Falls, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 727,000 Nature’s Finest Gel Candles. The gel used in these candles can catch fire, creating a high flame. This can result in nearby combustibles catching fire and burns to consumers.
March 14, 2005 - Skylighter Inc. Recall of Musical Flower Birthday Candleholders
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Skylighter Inc., of Round Hill, Va., is voluntarily recalling about 120 candle holders. The center of the candle has an unexpected high flame and the plastic petals could ignite resulting in melting and dripping plastic. The ignited plastic could also spread to nearby combustibles and pose a fire hazard to consumers. The battery contained in the middle of candle could eventually explode.
February 23, 2005- Kmart Corp. Recall of Martha Stewart Everyday Brand Birch Candle Set Sold Exclusively at Kmart
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kmart Corp., of Troy, Mich. is recalling about 4,600 Martha Stewart Everyday Brand Birch Candle Sets. The birch, surrounding the candles, may ignite, posing a fire and burn hazard.
February 18, 2005- Gardener’s Supply Company Recall of Rope Candle and Holder
February 8, 2005- Deb Shops Recall of Decorative Candleholders
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Deb Shops Inc., of Philadelphia, Pa.is voluntarily recalling about 48,000 decorative candleholders. The hook or handle of the candleholder can overheat and break, causing the lit candle to fall out and pose a fire hazard.
January 21, 2005- Carlton Cards Retails, Inc. Recall of Tealight Candle Holder
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Carlton Cards Retail, Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 5,000 Roasting Marshmallow Tealight Candle Holders. During normal use, the decorative marshmallows or decorative campfire flames may catch fire.
August 18, 2004- Seventh Avenue Inc. Recall of Kitchen Krumblers Candle
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Mostly Memories Inc., of Ozark, Mo. is voluntarily recalling about 1,200 Kitchen Krumblers Apple Cinnamon candles. The dried apples and cinnamon in the candle can ignite causing a flare up and breaking the glass, posing a fire hazard.
May 27, 2004- Pier 1 Imports Recall of Tea Light Candleholders
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Pier 1 Imports, of Fort Worth, Texas, is voluntarily recalling 48,000 Beaded Fish Tea Light Candleholders. The beads on these tea light candleholders can catch fire during use.
March 18, 2004- Bath & Body Works Recall of Votive Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bath & Body Works and The White Barn Candle Company of Columbus, Ohio, are voluntarily recalling “Real Essence” votive candles. These votive candles can burn with a high flame or irregular flame posing a fire hazard to consumers.
February 27, 2004 - Bloomingdale’s By Mail Recall of Candleholders
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bloomingdale’s By Mail, of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling 300 tree shaped candleholders. The candleholders can tip over, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
February 10, 2004- Candle Sets Recalled by Dollar Tree Stores Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dollar Tree Stores, Inc., of Chesapeake, VA, is voluntarily recalling 68,400 Luminessence™ T-Lite Candles with Glass Holder. Paint on the exterior surface of the candles can sustain a flame posing a potential fire hazard.
January 7, 2004- Thematic Candles Recalled by Lang Candles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lang Candles, of Delafield, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 92,000 Thematic Candles. Resin in the candleholder can ignite, posing a serious burn and fire hazard to consumers.
December 31, 2003- Mr. Christmas Inc. Recall of Christmas Candleholders
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Mr. Christmas Inc., of New York, N.Y. is voluntarily recalling 2,300 CROWNZZ Candleholders. The candleholders do not allow for the safe burning of a candle, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.
